Hi! I’m Katie, the heart and hands behind Cozy Casita de Pets. I created Cozy Casita from a deep love for animals and a passion for offering something better. I wanted to provide dog care that feels intentional, calming, and genuinely personal.
Before starting Cozy Casita, I worked as a teacher, where I developed a deep understanding of patience, structure, and emotional care. Now, I bring those same qualities to my home-based pet care. I personally care for each furry friend that stays with me, offering enrichment, affection, and a nurturing environment tailored to their needs.

I am currently pursuing my Master’s in Animal Behavior and hold certifications in canine CPR and First Aid, dog behavioral training, and dog and puppy training. My background allows me to provide a safe, structured, and knowledgeable environment for all services including boarding, daycare, and training. Every dog receives informed care, appropriate handling, and support tailored to their individual needs.
I began boarding, caring for, and training dogs through Rover in 2023, where I worked with a wide range of breeds, temperaments, energy levels, and behavioral challenges. This hands-on experience strengthened my ability to assess behavior quickly, implement structure, and create calm, consistent routines that help dogs feel secure and succeed.
I also work weekly with pups from Charming Pet Rescue, helping them build confidence and learn the skills they need to find their forever homes. Many of these dogs just need patience, structure, and someone to truly see them. Being part of their journey is incredibly meaningful to me and reflects the heart behind everything I do at Cozy Casita.
Since January 2025, I have been operating Cozy Casita de Pets full time, offering boarding, daycare, and training through my own business. This full-time commitment allows me to provide consistent supervision, intentional enrichment, structured rest and play, and personalized care for every dog in my home.

Boba is more than just my dog. He is an important part of the Cozy Casita de Pets experience. As my calm and friendly resident pup, Boba helps create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all of our furry guests.
He is well-socialized, gentle with small dogs, and often becomes fast friends with the pups who visit for daycare, boarding, and training. Boba enjoys showing new guests around the yard, modeling calm behavior, and offering comfort to dogs who may feel a little unsure during their first visit.
His laid-back personality sets the tone for a safe and relaxed stay. I believe dogs learn best from other dogs, and Boba plays a special role in helping every pup feel right at home.
